Given Mazda USA's subpar press site, we weren't surprised to learn that the Japanese carmaker has silently released pricing for the all-new 2014 Mazda6 sedan on its consumer website.

U.S. sales of Mazda's stylish mid-size sedan that's powered by a 184hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine will begin on January 2, with prices starting at $20,880 for the base Sport model fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission, not including (*) a $795 destination fee (if you live in Alaska it's $840).

2013 North American Car and Truck of the Year Finalists: Which Ones Do You Think Will Win?

Last year, Ford, with its Focus, was the sole U.S. manufacturer included in the final list for the North American Car and Truck of the Year award and it finished in third place, behind the VW Passat and the winner, Hyundai’s Elantra.

Even more surprising was the truck class where the Range Rover Evoque beat the Honda CR-V and the BMW X3. Where is this world coming to if U.S. manufacturers can’t build an SUV or truck to make an impression in their own market?

Idiots in Road Rage Incident Almost Kill Pedestrians

It’s one thing being annoyed over something as trivial as to who's going to give way first on the road, and another when you take unwise actions and endanger the lives of others drivers and pedestrians like these two swell-headed egomaniacs.

The men behind the wheels of the Nissan Teana sedan and the Mazda CX-9 crossover were trying to intimidate each other in a stupid game of chicken on the road by swerving left and right.

Mazda CX-5 Beats Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ, Wins Japan Car of the Year Award

With less than a month remaining until the end of the year, all kinds of “Car of the Year” awards will inadvertently start to pop up. Some, of course, are much more important than others are; and the Japan COTY title belongs to the former category. In 2011, the winner was the Nissan Leaf, which had also been awarded the World and European COTY titles.

This year, Mazda won the crown with its CX-5 compact crossover getting 363 votes, 45 more than the second-placed Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ “twins”. BMW’s 3-Series was third, while it’s interesting to note that the top 10 was evenly split between Japanese and European models.

Meet the New Diesel-Powered 2014 Mazda6 Grand-Am Series Racer

The best way to convince consumers about a new technology is to showcase it on the track or at least put a racing spin on it. Diesel engines aren't anything new by any means, but the push to get American buyers to give them yet one more chance is.

Together with next year's launch of the new 2014 Mazda6 equipped with a 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine in the States, Mazda will also field a racing version of the sedan during the 2013 Grand-Am series.

Mazda Launches Subtly Revamped MX-5 Roadster and Roadster Coupe in Europe [61 Photos]

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it; the MX-5, which is the world’s best-selling roadster, surely ain’t broke, but its third generation, code-named NC, has been in the market since 2005, so Mazda figured that a light facelift was in order.

The updated MX-5, which made its debut in September’s Paris Auto Show, goes on sale in Europe as of now. Available in both soft- and retractable hard-top versions named Roadster and Roadster Coupe respectively, it sports a more aggressively styled front bumper with a new grille and fog lamp bezels.

Mazda Sports Car Chief Says RX-7 will Return in 2017, Produce 295HP

If Helen of Troy was the face that launched a thousand ships, then the Mazda RX-7 is definitely the car that has launched a thousand rumors about being resurrected since its discontinuation a decade ago.

Even though it was replaced by the more practical, and still rotary-engine-powered, RX-8 in 2004, the hardcore RX-7 still holds a special place in the hearts of many sports car lovers around the world.

Since August 2011, when production of the RX-8 ceased, Mazda, the sole champion of rotary engines, does not have such a model in its line-up.

New Mazda MX-5 Super25 Concept Designed as an Endurance Racer

You can never have too much of a good thing, so while Mazda never proceeded with last year's supercharged MX-5 Super20, the concept lives on in a slightly different form as the MX-5 Super25 that made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show this week.

The Japanese carmaker tells us that the new study was "crafted with endurance racing in mind".

With the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in full swing, Mazda lifted the wraps off three new concept versions of its CX-5 compact crossover to demonstrate the personalization choices owners have, and in one case, to highlight the diesel option that may soon be available in North America.

We will start with the latter that is named after actor and Mazda racecar driver Patrick Dempsey and which uses the Japanese brand's European-specification SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter clean diesel engine to power the all-wheel-drive system through a six-speed manual gearbox.

Ford Comes in Second Last in Consumer Reports’ 2012 Auto Reliability Survey [w/Video]

Two years ago, Ford was included in the Top 10 of Consumer Reports’ (CR) annual reliability survey, with more than 90 percent of its range rated average or better.

In the 2012 survey, however, you’ll have to look a long way down to find the Blue Oval: it occupies the next-to-last place as it finished 27th out of 28 brands rated, and its Lincoln luxury division is just one place ahead.

"Ford's bumpy road can be seen in the numbers. Sixty percent of Ford-branded models and half of Lincolns were below average in predicted reliability and none placed above average," said Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports.

2013 Mazda CX-9 with New "Why so Serious" Face Makes World Premiere at Sydney Motor Show

Mazda chose this week's Australian International Motor Show in Sydney for the first public appearance of its redesigned CX-9 crossover. The Japanese firm's seven-seater model has been with us since 2007 having received its first facelift in 2009.

For its second facelift, Mazda brings the CX-9 closer to its newer products like the "6" and the CX-5 by applying the 'KODO - Soul of Motion' design theme to front and rear ends of the mid-size crossover, while also making some minor tweaks to the interior and adding a raft of new safety features.

At least from some angles, the 2013 CX-9's new and more serious fascia that features a five-point grille with a chrome surround connected to the revamped headlamps and a brand new bumper design, looks sharper and more modern than the outgoing model.

Official Photos of All-New 2014 Mazda3 Hatchback and Sedan Allegedly Leaked

If we are to believe a report from UK magazine Autoexpress, this is what the next generations of the Mazda3 four-door sedan and five-door hatchback may look like when the compact model is presented in the summer of 2013.

Before we move onto the details, here's little bit of background on how the images came to be and what Mazda had to say.

The publication claims it received the pictures in an unmarked envelope and then asked Mazda UK about them. A company spokesperson said that they are "digital renderings" made to display how the new Kodo design language could be applied on the next "3", rather than a real car.
