Time to Gander the New Maserati Quattroporte in 67 High-Res Photos

We have already had a first opportunity to see Italy's latest attempt in the luxury sedan segment, but Maserati wants us to get a better view of its all-new, sixth generation Quattroporte model with the release of a fresh gallery of pictures.

The car with which the Fiat Group is targeting the world's finest premium saloons such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Porsche Panamera, Jaguar XJ and BMW 7-Series, is said to have been designed from the ground up featuring a new platform, new powertrain options along with new comfort and technological features.

But is it really, "all-new"? Well, that depends on what you consider "all-new" as it does borrow certain components from the Fiat-Chrysler parts bin, including the Chrysler 300-derived chassis and the Pentastar V6's engine block along with a selection of other bits and pieces such interior switchgear.

First Video Reviews of New Maserati Quattroporte, Fiat Says it Counts on Chrysler to Help Brand

There’s no doubt that Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is an outspoken and ambitious man. Paradoxically, while he succeeded in helping turn Chrysler around, the group’s European operations are in trouble.

His most recent plan is to use the Chrysler tie-up to boost sales of Maserati. He has quite a tight time-schedule, too: as Maserati CEO Harald Wester said, he wants the Modena-based luxury carmaker to deliver 50,000 vehicles by 2015.

Well, that’s less than half of what Porsche sells today. At the same time, it’s more than eight times the 6,159 cars Maserati shifted in 2011!

Well, according to Autonews, Marchionne will invest US$1.2 billion in Maserati and is counting on the Quattroporte flagship saloon, the upcoming smaller Ghibli sedan and the Levante SUV, as well as the 2,300-strong U.S. Chrysler dealership network, to help him achieve this target.

While the Italians have yet to share details on their website, they did with some select magazines including Motor Trend that has the skinny on the luxury model that will be making its first public outing at next month's 2012 NAIAS in Detroit.

New 2013 Maserati Quattroporte Video is One of the Same

Maserati continues to be cryptic about its new Quattroporte luxury sedan, some three weeks after it released the first images and videos of the car.

We still don't get any information about the 2013 model's technical specifications, but the Italian automaker launched another short film about the car on Wednesday, one that brings the camera up and close to the exterior and interior details of the same beige-colored model we saw before.

Che Bella Macchina: A Brief History of the Maserati Quattroporte

A few days ago, Maserati revealed the sixth generation of its flagship saloon. Although it hasn’t disclosed all the details, we know that the all-new Quattroporte is bigger than its predecessor, more luxurious and loaded with the latest tech features and a V8 engineered by Ferrari that sends power to the rear wheels.

The Modena-based manufacturer knows very well that its latest model enters a class that’s getting pretty crowded. Back in the 1960s, when the first generation was launched, competition was minimal. Nowadays, no niche is taboo for anyone so Maserati has to compete with the likes of the Porsche Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide.

Until we learn all there is to know about the new Quattroporte we can afford to take a short journey back in time to meet its ancestors.

What Do You Say About yourcars-007's Maserati Quattroporte Rendering vs. The Real Deal?

Somewhere between all those scoop photos and videos of the sixth generation Maserati Quattroporte and three months before the Italians debuted the car online, yourcars-007's artist Josh Byrnes presented a rendering of what we believed the full-size luxury sedan would look like when it hit the market.

Since you have already seen the real life 2013 Maserati Quattroporte, which will make its grand premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January, we wanted to ask your thoughts about our design.

New Maserati Quattroporte: Can You Spot the Shared Interior Parts with its Chrysler Siblings?

Parts or component sharing between different products from various brands to lower development and production costs is nothing new in the auto industry - or any other industry for that matter. It happened in the past and will continue to happen in the future - period.

Truth to be told, no one cares if said parts are not visible to the eye or if they're used on similarly priced vehicles, but when consumers notice the same components on models from completely opposite price ranges and segments, it could cause problems when perception is crucial.

As most of you will be aware, on Tuesday, Maserati revealed the all-new, sixth generation of its Quattroporte model that promises to have matured into a real flagship sedan that blends sport and luxury elements alike in a modern package.

Maserati Drops First Official Videos of the New Quattroporte Sports Saloon

Details about the next generation of the Maserati Quattroporte may remain thinner than a slice of prosciutto ham, but the Italian carmaker isn’t skimping out when it comes to pictures and in this case, videos as well.

Just a couple of hours after the Modena-based manufacturer showed its new flagship saloon to the on-line world, Maserati dropped a quartet of videos featuring the car together with some of its executives who provide little to no useful information about the Quattroporte.

All-New 2013 Maserati Quattroporte Officially Revealed, will Premiere at Detroit Auto Show

Maserati has yanked the covers off the all-new, sixth generation Quattroporte luxury sports sedan prior to its first public appearance at the upcoming 2013 North American Auto Show (NAIA) in Detroit in mid-January and before sales begin later in the same year.

The Italian carmaker released an initial batch of photos of both the exterior and interior of its flagship sedan model, but for the time being, it is not divulging any specific details about the car with which it will be represented in the luxury segment with rivals such as the BMW 7-Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Jaguar XJ.

On the outside and even though we don't have any numbers in our hands yet, it becomes quickly clear that the Quattroporte is longer than its predecessor, while the styling is purely evolutionary.

Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Head of Maserati Design Centre, explains: "Its style was born out of the guiding design principles of Maserati: harmony of shapes, dynamism of lines and Italian elegance. More generous in size when compared to the previous model, the new Quattroporte has a design that is at once graceful and sinuous, fashioned to bring out the sporty nature of the car."

Scoop: New Maserati Quattroporte Flagship Strips Down to the Skin

Eight years in the market is a long time, even for a specialty brand such as Maserati and a car like its Quattroporte sports saloon, however gorgeous it may be.

This will soon change, though, as the Italians are in the final development stages of the next generation Quattroporte, which for the first time ever, has been spied without the clunky plastic moldings of previous prototypes.
